Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 10, 2026
StoreGuard is a Shopify application that monitors a store’s catalog for potentially harmful changes. This policy describes what data StoreGuard collects, why, and how long it is kept.
Data we collect
- Store information: your myshopify.com domain, store name, and the email address Shopify provides for the store, used to operate your account and send alerts you configure.
- Catalog data: products, variants, prices, inventory quantities, product status, publication state, media counts, and collections. This is the data StoreGuard exists to monitor.
- Change history: before/after values of catalog changes StoreGuard detects, retained according to your plan (7 days on Free, 90 days on Pro).
- Attribution metadata: where Shopify’s event log provides it, the staff member name or app title associated with a catalog change.
- Sales aggregates (optional): if you explicitly enable Revenue Impact, StoreGuard reads recent order line items — product/variant IDs, quantities, line amounts and timestamps only — and stores per-product aggregates. StoreGuard never reads or stores customer names, emails, phone numbers, or shipping/billing addresses.
What we do not collect
StoreGuard does not collect or store customer personal information. We do not sell data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except the subprocessors below.
Subprocessors
- Database hosting for application data.
- An email delivery provider (used only to send the alerts and summaries you configure).
Retention and deletion
- Change history and incidents are deleted automatically after your plan’s retention window.
- When you uninstall StoreGuard, monitoring stops immediately and your store’s data is deleted in accordance with Shopify’s data removal requirements, including the mandatory shop/redact webhook.
- Shopify’s customers/data_request and customers/redact webhooks are supported; because StoreGuard stores no customer personal data, these requests complete with no customer data on file.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your store’s data at any time by contacting us. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.
